We’ve Been Recognised as a Great Place to Work® Certified Company for 2022!

We're beyond excited to announce that we've been Great Place to Work Certified™ for 2022! Read more to find out what this achievement means to us.

We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ve been named as a Great Place to Work® once again for 2022. Great Place to Work® is a global research company that enables businesses in over 45 countries worldwide to survey their employees (through anonymous responses), and receive validation and recognition for their company and workplace culture.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing clients, the wider BlueRock community and, as importantly, the dedicated work of our fantastic BlueRockers. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look into why our employees think we’re a great place to work!

What Makes BlueRock a Great Place to Work®?

Anyone who’s had the chance to step into our La Trobe Street office can tell you that we aren’t your average professional services firm. And no, it isn’t because of the Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson mural in our level 17 cafe, the sombrero-wearing unicorn by the reception desk, or our beloved wall of inspirational female entrepreneurs in our collaboration space. The things that set us apart from other firms runs deeper than our eccentric office aesthetic; it’s our community culture and entrepreneurial spirit.

Yes, we work with business owners to help them run better businesses and have better lives, but we also run businesses ourselves. To start with, our unique multidisciplinary model enables our 15 service divisions to operate as successful businesses in their own rights while working collaboratively with one another to best service our clients and members of the community. As well as that, our BlueRockers get the opportunity to invest in BlueRock, so we can all work towards a shared vision.

Together, we offer support and end-to-end solutions to entrepreneurs, business owners and families in all aspects of their lives and businesses, from buying a business or purchasing new manufacturing equipment, to SMSF strategies and estate planning. This one-stop-shop model allows our teams to create amazing efficiencies and act in an agile way to supercharge growth for businesses and help individuals effectively reach their personal goals.

We create further efficiencies by leveraging impressive technology and automation, optimising the everyday work and allowing more time for our people to proactively advise our clients and develop long-lasting relationships with clients and each other.

Our community is very important to us on many levels. In 2020 we launched the Be BlueRock Foundation, a public ancillary fund designed to give individuals and organisations a simple, cost-effective and tax-effective way to establish their own sub-fund and distribute money to charities of their choice over time. It allows people to enjoy the benefits of a public charitable foundation without the responsibilities of being a trustee and managing compliance.

It’s very exciting for our people who have the opportunity to get involved in events, fundraising, volunteering, pro bono work and salary sacrifice initiatives, while clients can take advantage of our philanthropy consultants to design their very own giving platform. As a unique aspect to life at BlueRock, our Be BlueRock Foundation really adds to BlueRock being a Great Place to Work!

All of this is made possible thanks to our motivated and hardworking BlueRockers who demonstrate each and every day that “when you do things you love with people you care about, good things happen”.

The Results Speak for Themselves!

CEO of BlueRock and Managing Director of BlueRock Law, Bruce McFarlane, says that “being externally recognised as a Great Place to Work is a fantastic acknowledgement of the amazing people-first culture that we have built over a number of years. We care about each other, enjoy spending time together and building strong relationships, and this drives great collaboration with our team and clients. Well done BlueRockers!”

We’re incredibly proud of the community culture we’ve developed over the years, and the following top statements from our BlueRockers show that our people agree that we’re a Great Place to Work.

The results from the survey showed that:

  • 97% of our people say that they care about their fellow BlueRockers
  • 98% of our BlueRockers believe that BlueRock is a physically safe place to work
  • 98% of our BlueRockers feel as though people are treated fairly here – regardless of their sexual orientation
  • 98% state that people celebrate special events here
  • 98% of our BlueRockers recognise that when new employees join BlueRock, they are made to feel welcome

Our entrepreneurial mindset and strategic growth strategy presents our team with countless opportunities to innovate, develop and play. BlueRock’s Head of People and Culture, Sabrina Del Borrello, believes that our Great Place to Work Certification is more than just a title:

“It shows that our people value the work they do, care about one another, and are committed to demonstrating the BlueRock values in everything they do; to be honest, innovative, positive, proactive and relentless”.

Oh dear, there's nothing here. We aimed too high and fell short. We flew too close to the sun... Or this is a simple mistake and we just need to plug a few things back in or jiggle a few cords.
Did you know?
BlueRock is a certified B Corp business.
Does that mean we didn’t make the ‘A-Team’? Far from it; landing a ‘B’ in this case is an affirmation of our commitment to being “a force for good” in the corporate arena.
